So..............................I'm standing in line at Costco yesterday. In front of me are two men checking out - one older, one younger. The older man checks out and pays. The younger one checks out (using the membership card of the older man) and pulls out his EBT card. The cashier told him he couldn't use it to pay since he wasn't a member and that he could only accept cash. I used to work for Costco and this is standard policy.
The older man becomes a bit upset. A front end supe (Costco speak for supervisor) comes over and explains that only the member can use an EBT card and since it didn't matter who used the card, in the future he (the member) would need to swipe the card to pay for the purchases of the non-member.
Now I know that there is no way to track who is using an EBT card - at least in theory, but to be confronted with it up close and personal and to be held up while this Costco member displayed his displeasure was certainly an eye opener.
Think about that next time you see someone using an EBT card generously supported by your tax dollars. Did they buy it for pennies on the dollar off of Craig's list, on a street corner, or maybe from the gal that lives down the hall in Section 8 housing?
Things that make you go, "Hmmmmmmmmmm."
Your tax dollars at work in Africa:
While millions of Americans are losing their insurance, their doctors, and probably their medicine, we spent millions upon millions of dollars to fly Obama and his angry wife to Africa so he could give a speech about himself, yuk it up with other world leaders, and take selfies.
Witness British Prime Minister David Cameron and Denmark's Prime Minister Helle Thorning taking a selfie with Obama. Seriously? These are adults?
Trust me. This is the most published photo in the entire world today. I hope all you Obama voters are proud of what you've inflicted on our country.
OMGosh! When did they switch seats???
