SPOKANE, Wash. -- Police have arrested 16-year-old Kenan Adams-Kinard less than a week after the alleged beating death of World War II veteran Delbert Belton.
Adams-Kinard is the second suspect along with 16-year-old Demetrius Glenn accused of killing 88-year-old Belton. Police arrested him on First Degree Robbery and First Degree Murder warrants.
Authorities said Adams-Kinard was arrested just after 3:00 a.m. Monday morning in a basement apartment on West Montgomery Avenue and North Stevens Street without incident.
Police credited good investigative work and follow-up on dozens of tips that led to the arrest of the suspect less than a week after the alleged fatal beating.
Police said several other arrests were made with Adams-Kinard for charges of rendering criminal assistance.
Spokane Police Chief Frank Straub is expected to address the arrest later on Monday.
