as described by hubby.
Conversation:
Hubby: We have a problem with the Sonata
Me: Really?
Hubby: Yeah. I was driving down the road at a slow speed and it squeaked.
Me: Squeaked? I never heard of a car squeaking (except when the door joints needed WD40 or it was infested with illegal lab mice)
Hubby: Well, maybe it more of a squeal.
Me: A squeal?
Hubby: Actually, it was more like a whine.
Me: Hmmmmmmmmmm
Hubby: It only happened at slow speeds. On the freeway was no problem.
Me: How about when you applied the brakes?
Hubby: Oh yeah - it whined, squealed, and squeaked big time then.
Me: Hmmmmmmmmmmm
Me: Did the car stop?
Hubby: Well, yeah. Otherwise I wouldn't be here. I'd be splattered all over the freeway. As you can see, I'm sitting right here telling you about the squeak.
Me: Maybe we should call the shop and get the car in.
Hubby: But, but, but, I need the car Friday night (this is Wed.)
Me: I understand that, but if we wait it won't get fixed.
Hubby: Hmmmmmmm, hadn't thought about that.
Me: Uh huh
Me: It sounds like the brake squealers have been activated.
Hubby: Huh?
Me: BRAKE SQUEALERS - have you never heard of brake squealers?
Hubby: No
Me: Oh, dear God. This role reversal thing is a real burden.
