he is missed.
I admit to not being a huge Elvis fan in my youth. My mother thought he was one of the most beautiful men she had ever seen. I didn't get it.
And then along came the 1968 Comeback Special on TV when I was about 22 or so. It was then that I knew my Mom was right (as always.)
This was a man who was uniquely blessed by God with beauty and talent. Was he a Pavarotti or Caruso? No. He was Elvis Presley and no one sounded like him - not before and not after.
There have been others who have been blessed. Most came to a bad end. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could take these special people, wrap them in cotton batting, and keep them safe forever?
