Obama: Fair play and doing your fair share...

NB:  you have to do your fair share - he just has to vacay in Hawaii for 17 days.

I don't like starting my week out by reading something as pathetically disgusting as the following article from the Daily Caller telling us about the new and improved campaign strategy of Obama.  Are people still fooled by this SCoaMF??  Really?
The White House is highlighting a new theme for the 2012 election this week by holding a meeting with university leaders on Monday, giving a speech in Kansas on Tuesday and by lobbying to win a high-stakes Senate vote on Thursday.
President Barack Obama’s Kansas speech will show “his vision of an America where everyone engages in fair play, does their fair share and gets a fair shot,” Josh Earnest, Obama’s principal deputy press secretary, said in a Sunday press briefing.

The new slogan sidelines older themes, including “we can’t wait” and “pass this bill,” but it allows Obama to portray himself on the campaign trail as the progressive solution to the current economic paralysis.  read the rest

And yesterday being Sunday, I refused to get too upset by this article by Micheal Barone, who claims to be conservative and fancies himself some sort of intellectual. But now it's Monday, and I'm mad as hell!
[...]Here are a couple of things to keep in mind about Newt Gingrich, as he leads in polls for the Republican presidential nomination nationally and in Iowa and South Carolina and may be threatening Mitt Romney's lead in New Hampshire. One is that he is an autodidact. A second is that he is has incredible perseverance
Autodidact is a fancy word for someone who is self-taught.  Gingrich calls himself a historian and says his worldview was shaped at age 15 by viewing the bones at the ossuary at Verdun, site of the World War I battle. And he did earn a Ph.D. in history in 1971, with a dissertation on "Belgian Education Policy in the Congo: 1945-1960."
Calls himself a historian, Michael?  I believe he has a Ph.D in history.  Where's your Ph.D from?  Oh, right - you don't have one.  And thank you for explaining to the great unwashed what an autodidact is.  I would have more interests in the opinions of an autodidact than a fool who has been fed un-American trash and outright Marxism in some sheltered university setting.
[...]But he hasn't pursued that or any other subject with scholarly rigor. Instead, in his voluminous writings and unusually lengthy speeches you will find references to the futurist Alvin Tofler, to Olympic beach volleyball, to zoos and space exploration. You'll find management book lingo, salesmanship tips, offbeat and sometimes revealing facts and anecdotes.  read it all if you really want to
And your point, Michael?  A true intellectual searches out truth, no matter how unlikely the source.  Want to meet the least intellectual people on the face of the earth?  Visit a university and talk to most any professor who lives in a cocoon of snobbery, shielded from the real world, sneeringly spouting off lefty nonsense.  I'd trust the opinions of an autodidact way before someone who has spent his life soaking up the kind of Marxist swill slopped out in the average university.

Why not Trump?

Speaking of autodidacts, the snobs of the world are all up in arms over the prospect of Donald Trump moderating a Republican debate.  Why not Donald Trump?  We're supposed to consider Wolf Blitzer or Bret Baier more serious?  The Republican contenders for the nomination have put themselves in one debate after another moderated by lefty morons whose sole purpose has been to sandbag them and make them look stupid.  In many cases they succeeded quite well.

Trump fires back:

James Lewis, at American Thinker, makes this rather bold statement:

Why Gingrich Will Do
Yes, he's imperfect.  Who's not?

But compare Gingrich to Obama.  G has a Ph.D. in history (something the leftist media always forgets to tell us) and has written 20 books, some of them good ones, all expressing a deep understanding of the unique American experiment and the U.S. Constitution.

Obama thinks the Constitution is some kind of white imperialist plot designed to keep the victims of the world down and oppressed.  That's why he did those deep bows to medieval tyrants like President Hu (the terror-master of Tibet), the figurehead emperor of Japan, and the desert-king of Arabia, King Abdullah of the house of Saud.  No American president in history -- ever -- has physically and symbolically bowed down to medieval tyrants.  Never.  read the rest
