I can't give blood because I was in East Africa for an extended time. Which is more of a threat; a healthy person who has had all kinds of blood test from the military, or someone living a homosexual lifestyle?
Common sense would say I am less a risk, but PC once again rules the day.
I doubt that living in East Africa would be the same risk as men having sex with men, but it's hard to make rules that are rational for all cases. Right now, both are rejected for lawyerly reasons.
