It's Tuesday and Anthony Weiner takes the top TWENTY ONE spots on Memeorandum...

never has a weiner received such attention.  I like Ann Barnhardt's take on the whole affair:
The problem is that we as a nation are willing to tolerate men like Weiner in office. How can it possibly be that Weiner is NOT going to be forced to resign? What kind of a populace do you have to have to tolerate Weiner's sexual crimes, betrayal of his wife, betrayal of his oath of office, and his lying? Weiner is merely pathetic. A nation of people that permits men like him to continue to pollute the hallowed halls of their capitol is terrifying. The reason this country is going straight to hell isn't because it contains men like Weiner. The reason we are going straight to hell is because we don't respect OURSELVES enough to DEMAND better of our elected leaders. A nation that thinks that it deserves to be ruled by lying, cheating pervs is already dead. The rest is just academic. source

Why does this not surprise me?

Conservatives on Fire:   Afghanistan __ More Bad News and A Little Good News

What really happened on Memorial Day?  From Second City Cop:

  • [Boston] - Fights broke out among rival gang members on Carson Beach in South Boston yesterday and spilled out across the city, triggering a massive law enforcement response from at least five agencies to stem the violence.
  • [Nashville] -NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nearly two dozen police officers were called out to Wave Country on Monday afternoon after large crowds of people became unruly. The disturbance forced park managers to close the facility two hours early on Memorial Day.
  • [Charlotte] - CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Questions continue to swirl as investigators search for whoever fired shots during one of many fights in uptown Charlotte early Sunday.
  • [Long Island] - LONG BEACH, N.Y. - A Long Island police department says it had to call for backup to quell a beach melee involving hundreds of people that spilled out onto the streets and a nearby bus depot.
  • [Rochester] - Rochester, N.Y. – A busy Memorial Day evening at the beach ended abruptly when fights broke out among at least 100 youth.
  • [Miami] - The police shooting that killed one, wounded four bystanders and shocked South Beach over the holiday weekend may be the death knell for Urban Beach Week.

Think this is an anomaly?  Wait until 2012.  Even James Carville is sounding a warning.

Carville is more right than he probably knows.

Thanks for the link, Adrienne. BTW, I finished the three part Dr, sanity series. He is spot on. Obama and most liberals will never be capable of changing, will they?

Makes me wonder who was coordinating all the Memorial Day rages.

And if there will be another coordination for July 4?

The violence is a bit worrying. We need to be prepared.

As far as the violence goes, one thing that needs to be kept in mind is that our social order is far less robust than it was during the Great Depression -- and this country came a lot closer to mass rioting and revolution during the depths of the Depression than is generally recognized. Communists, fascists -- not Republicans but real, live, goose-stepping fascists -- and other radicals were in full flower in the mid-1930's. Huey Long, prior to his assassination, was building a campaign to challenge FDR with a far more radical platform that would have moved the country even faster towards overt government control of the economy. But in spite of the political and economic chaos, there was still a remarkably solid core of social stability in the country -- families, local communities, churches, etc. That underlying core has been mightily eroded in the last 50 years. Be prepared.
