However, my amur maple has been successfully whacked down about half in two. I was wishing for a chain saw about an hour into the job instead of my clippers and hand pruning saw. Thank goodness my husband handles the hauling away of piles. There's two more truck loads of red twig dogwood lurking inside the fence and I haven't even started in on the three acres of trees. It's a good thing I LOVE to prune!!
Some great reading is listed below the pics and a plea for help...
There were so many outstanding articles that caught my eye. One such article that is a must read is from Father Longenecker When is Religion Not Religion?
Another came from Carol at Potluck Bloggers Bill Bennett Misses the Point.

So the question is: What the h*ll am I doing wrong?? It took me almost a week for WP to even acknowledge my account and allow me to reset my password. Now it won't let me log onto the practice site. As a huge believer in Occam's Razor, I'm thinking the solution is probably very simple. Anyone??

and when you get done you can come prune my crepe myrtle for me!! it's time, but it won't warm up long enough for me to stock up enough gumption to get out there and chop on it!!
MM - if I lived just a tad closer, I would be there in a heartbeat!
Adrienne--
Hey, it's Quite Rightly from Bread upon the Waters, checking in.
I had a similar problem with WordPress myself, a while back. You might try using your old password. WordPress seems to have a hard time keeping track of those.
If nothing else works, maybe you could open your own Wordpress blog and use that to practice. But I think you could do very well without practice just using what you know from blogspot.
Wow! I just noticed that you featured my blog. Thanks!
I'm moving on to meet other women from Potluck... Talk with you soon.
PS.
I'm encouraged to hear that amur maples eventually get big enough to prune. I planted one 2 summers ago and it just seems to sit there. . . . Maybe I need to go talk to it or something.
