Cell Phones for All

I thought this was a joke when I read it on American Thinker.  I would be wrong. The government (that would you and me), is currently offering free cell phones including 68 free minutes per month through a program called SafeLink:

From the SafeLink website:
We are currently offering service in parts of Alabama, Connecticut, DC, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin with plans to begin offering service soon in the States listed below.
 and coming soon to:
Arizona. Missouri, Puerto Rico, Texas, Kentucky, and Washington
Exactly where is the money coming from for this??  Oh yeah, right. You and me!

Well, since I'm paying for it I'd better get one! Oh, wait, my state isn't listed....

Well, how is the government going to listen in on our phone calls if everyone doesn't have a phone? I'm waiting for government subsidized blackberries. After all....in a true socialistic government, everyone should have a blackberry like our Obambi prez., no?

I'm also waiting for him to send me a sparking pony and to pay my mortgage (foot tapping).

I would never use it. I rarely use the one I bought and pay for. I really think they are useless and annoying. I do not want to be contacted constantly. Here are my five numbers, try them all and you'll be able to reach me . . . it's only good if your kid is sick in school, but it's not like I have oodles of money to never be home. Ugh.

Now, now, Austie. Have a glass of wine and breathe into a bag. That's just another reason not to live in Minnesota. Good place to be from...
