Phyllis Schlafly on Obama

I like Phyllis!

Phyllis Schlafly is the founder of Eagle Forum. I remember many years ago when she was routinely ridiculed as a uneducated "stay at home Mom type". Read her bio and see is that accusation makes sense.

“But everything Obama is promoting on the health care industry is bad, is government control, which is what he wants.” “You know he never had a real job before he got in politics.”

“He was a community organizer -- and this is a process of making people believe that they live in an unjust and discriminatory society and they should organize to protest and demand to take money away from the taxpayers.”

“Anybody who thinks that health care is going to cost less if the government runs it must believe in the tooth fairy.” “It isn’t going to happen and the idea of letting the government run all of our healthcare industry is simply unacceptable.” Phyllis Schlafly source

Thanks for these quotes, they were hilarious! No facts, just smears and accusations without facts to back them up.

hey there, I'll have to catch up on your blog over the weekend...but I wanted you to see this article. It was referenced by Sarah Palin's facebook page today and is definitely worth the read.

Elizabeth - everything Mrs. Schlafly says can be backed up by facts. Can you do the same?

Mighty Mom - I haven't even had a chance to check Sarah's Facebook page. I'd really like to think it's a "great minds moment" (I can dream!)

Elizabeth - you're inability to reason things through to a logical conclusion is amazing.

For some people, this is an unjust and discriminatory society. Community organizers help those people learn to advocate for their legal rights. I find Ms. Schlafly's remarks about community organizers to be very offensive.

As for government-run healthcare, the government has been running healthcare for the poor and the elderly for some time. These programs are popular with the public because they provide a safety net with far lower overhead than what private insurance provides, because private companies leech off the sick and the desperate in order to make a profit. CEOs of private health plans make millions of dollars every year for their ability to deny healthcare to the sick. There are problems with Medicare and Medicaid, the biggest problem being fraud. But fraud also exists in private health care.
