Turning away from God has consequences....
Suzanna Logan who posts over at "insert clever s. logan here", wrote a fine piece about Bruno that I believe is a must read.
I've never been a fan of Borat, finding his humor crude and offensive, which is typical for so many of the people that call themselves comediennes. It further points up what I was trying to express in my post about having a spiritual problem in this country.
from Suzanna:
"When He sees His children--those who claim to have accepted the work His Son did on the cross--opening their hearts to the wickedness and depravity of the world rather than seeking to "be holy as He is holy," it grieves Him. I can imagine Him saying with a crest-fallen look, "Is this, this what I sent my Son for?" as Christian after Christian settles into their theater seats to watch Bruno."

Well, this is a very good point, one that is very good for each believer to hear. The entertainment we choose to partake does influence us, and it is also a testimony about what we find enjoyable. So, when we go to movies or watch questionable stuff on t.v. or listen to raunchy music, we need to be aware of those points.
A friend of mine who is a Mormon told me once that the LDS church encourages its members not to see rated R movies. I thought that was pretty need. When was the last time somebody said something like that in the Catholic Church?
