Michael Jackson Memorial

I've never been a big Michael Jackson fan. In particular, I never thought his making the act of grabbing one's crotch in public acceptable was not one of his biggest contributions to the forward thrust of civilization. It always reminded me of a little boy who was just becoming potty trained running to his Mom when nature was calling, which is really who MJ really was - an emotional child.

But guess what? If 18K folks want to get together and have a big public memorial service at the Staples Center - well, so be it.

Was Jackson creepy? You bet he was. He led a sad and pathetic life and the world wide attention says a lot about who we have become as a society. But so far, the service is surprisingly respectful and orderly. But I also think the family should be billed for the millions that have been shelled out by the tax payers of a bankrupt state.

In the meantime - the guy is dead. Let whatever happens now be between Michael and God.

I have a soft spot in my heart for mentally ill people who have been abused and used for personal gain and I agree with what you said last week about Farrah. We just don't know about these things.(I know you weren't judging about his salvation. You just made accurate calls about his personal behavior)

I re-watched the interview he had with Martin Bashir and Michael was so "out -there" and if it woulda been you or I interviewed , the police woulda used the video for evidence against us.

The victims will be coming out of the woodwork now. The cash flow dried up.

how disgusting IS that???

People who "won" tickets to that fiasco were selling them on ebay for 10,000! Too bad I didn't know nor care that there were tickets being given away. 10,000 in my bank account would have been mighty nice.

I'm w/you though, who's paying for all those cops & city workers? Who paid for the Staples center?

Belinda - my feelings exactly. The guy was mentally ill. No doubt about that at all and he was used and abused.

MM - over one million people tried to get tickets. Weird!

Mother - Oh I would have sold a ticket in a hear beat on ebay. heh!
