Senate Backs Apology for Slavery
Iran is having a melt down, Obama is in the process of high-jacking our health care while at the same time trying to make 14 million illegal aliens legal so they can be added to his "health plan that will save America Crisis Plan", and these loons in Washington have time for this nonsense?
The resolution specifies that it cannot be used in reparations cases but, mark my words, that idea is not a dead issue.
Obama suggests reparations to blacks, Native Americans
Says 'the most important thing to do
is not just offer words, but offer deeds'
Well, guess what I want?....
I want an apology because my Italian grandparents were shuffled through Ellis Island, had their name changed without their consent, and their children were not afforded the luxury of a bi-lingual teacher, nor were they pushed to head of the line when applying for college. No one gave them food stamps, welfare, or free medical care. And Grampa never received preferential treatment at the bank when he applied for a business loan or a home mortgage. He had to qualify - what a concept!
I also want recognition from the government that all Italians have been represented as Mafia thugs (not that there is anything wrong with being a Mafia member - it's the thug part I object to), so they can pass a bill making all movie makers, book authors, and assorted Irish, pay into a reparation fund, payable to ME, 'cause there's no telling how far I could have gone in life if I wasn't constantly battling that thug image.
And while we're at it, how about a personal apology for all the times while growing up I heard, "she looks like she just got off the boat." I was 14 years old before I even knew what the heck that meant!

Reparations have been going on for some time already in the form of welfare, the skewed income tax that benefits some groups disproportionately, affirmative action, etc. They don't call it such and it's never enough either. How's that working out for the black community so far? Once again, good intentions with overwhelming negative consequences.
