There is a wounded soldier at the Fisher House in Fort Sam Houston, Texas by the name of Sgt David Thornhill.
Sgt Thornhill lost both legs as well as being burned on 56% of his body while serving this country in Iraq. He has been at the Fisher House for 2 years and his parents have reached out for support. They are not asking for money or anything like that, but they are asking for as many service members, veterans, and others as many others as possible to please send him a birthday card. His birthday is this coming week (upon checking I believe his birthday is the week of May 21st) and if a lot of people could send him a birthday card to show him how much his sacrifice is appreciated it would mean a lot.
His parents are worried about his emotional status and he hardly ever has visitors. Let's help this soldier and send him a lot of cards.
Sgt. David Thornhill

I think my comment did not post?
Sorry for the repeat.
I wrote that ironically i am purchasing today, via my American Advantage some miles, due to my purchasing a USO package for some soldier in the field.
I am preparing to go to Rome-Vatican, God willing, in December....I have never been and am so excited about the prospect of seeing the Holy Father & visting the tomb of St Peter, JP2, etc, as well as meeting pretty Italian girls, LOL, :)))))
Hey - I'm a pretty Italian girl and you've already met me......come here instead. Oh right, we don't have a Pope here.
Oh wait - yes we do. There's a Pope in Montana not too far from us...he'll do!
Adrienne, I'll send a card, but if there is more that I can do (since I'm in the area) please let me know, or put me in touch with Sgt. Thornhill's parents. Thanks!
Kalona - how sweet. I don't have that information but I bet you could find it pretty easily. Try calling where he's staying and see if he would like some visitors.
