Sotomayor Ugly?

Before we get to the "ugly" part, let's talk about her qualifications. Well, she really doesn't have any, but that didn't stop our current President from becoming our current President so why should it stop her from being a Supreme Court Justice? Let's not forget she has emmmmmpaaaaaaathy.

Is she a racist? Based on her own comments, I have reached the conclusion she is a racist.

Is she likely to be a bit of a loose cannon? Your guess is as good as mine on that issue. But what I am quite sure of is this: if she is not confirmed, the next choice will be way worse. Count on it!

So on to the ugly part. It is disgusting to log onto conservative sites that make fun of her looks. Somewhere out there it was said she "looked like Susan Boyle without the charm", or some such thing. I can't give attribution on the statement because I honestly don't remember where I read it.

We have become so crude and crass in this country, people who refer to themselves as journalists think making fun of a person's appearance is legitimate reporting, and the public, like some peanut gallery attendees at a Roman circus, jump on the bandwagon like so many sandlot bullies.

I found it disheartening when these bullies piled on Susan Boyle, whom I thought was perfectly charming and lovely even before they plucked her eyebrows. And now the remarks about Ms. Sotomayor are equally disturbing.

There is nothing at all wrong with Sonia Sotomayor's appearance. In fact I find her quite pretty with a dazzling smile that lights up her whole face. If you want to be taken seriously, then stop with the ugly jokes. They're not funny!

She most definitely is a racist, as is that vile organization La Raza which she is a member of.

BTW, did you see this:

What irony, huh? Leaving true church of God to join one which was founded because Henry VIII needed to marry his mistress.

Ugly Betty (the TV show heroine) isn't ugly - she's just the underdog - Latino people are so discriminated against and all of that you know... And then to be a Latina - wow - double whammy, huh. Can you imagine how discriminated against she could be if in additiona to being a woman, hispanic, and immigrant, if she was a lesbian too?! I'm sure she isn't - but all of these minority titles have made her the wise judge she is today. Smarter than any white guy - or white woman for that matter.

I think she's fine looking.
I like her hair. It's curly and behaves.

Like most women, past 35 it's work work work to look anything but fine.

I don't have the energy. (But I'm willing to put forth a little more effort.)

But, one thing I've often noticed growing up, women are attacked on their looks if they are in any position of power. Often it's disparaging. Ugly, frumpy, dumpy, dog. Even if they're NOT even close to being unattractive.

If by some freak accident our Good Lord gave them that effortless beauty, then very vulgar words are headed their way. Even by other women. (Sr. Linda I'm reminded of, was breathtaking even with a pixie hair cut and a plain habit. Prettier than even Jamie Lee Curtis. You can't fake or hide good bone structure.)
