Same Day, Same Subject
When two bloggers whom I respect, post or comment on the same subject on the same day, I take it as a hint that I need to pay attention to the subject. I have only a cursory knowledge of La Raza, none of which is good, but now I will deepen my research.

Carlos Echevarria of Let's Get It Right says: (hey Carlos - did you know that the blogger spell checker wants to replace your name with "achievers"? How apt!)
"She most definitely is a racist, as is that vile organization La Raza which she is a member of."

rac·ism \ˈrā-ˌsi-zəm also -ˌshi-\ "a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race" [From Webster]
Sonia Sotomayor:"Whether born from experience or inherent physiological or cultural differences... our gender and national origins may and will make a difference in our judging."
"...a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life."
Sotomayor supporters: Please explain what element of racism is missing from Ms. Sonia's statements.

Wait a minute, doesn't racist mean a member of La Raza? What's wrong with that? A lot of my friends are racists and they seem reasonable to me. Heck, a lot of my enemies are racist too and they seem reasonable too.
