An open letter to Pope Benedict XVI

H/T to our wonderful Argent by the Tiber
It is baking hot. Outside the temperature is 46.2C, { 47.5C in Avalon } It is like an oven. Very strong winds are making everything very unpleasant. Needless to say I have not been outside except to water the garden first thing this morning. The leaves are just dropping from the trees at an alarming rate, like Autumn.
All blinds are down and the curtains are closed to keep the house as cool as possible. Air conditioner is on with fingers crossed that the electricity keeps going.
There are five bush-fires on the go so the fire-fighters are having a very hard time trying to protect everyone and their properties but the strong winds have caused the fires to get out of control.
We are all waiting for the cool change. Pray for rain as we need it desperately.
'Restless' Obama and family head to Camp David
Saturday, February 7th 2009, 7:25 AM
It took Barack Obama two years to get to the White House, but barely more than two weeks for wanderlust to set in.
"He's a bit of a restless soul," Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said Friday when asked if Obama was feeling "cooped up in the White House." Try that line with your boss next time you want to get away from the office
Saturday, Obama and his family are due to head for Camp David for their first overnight stay at the presidential retreat in Maryland's Catoctin Mountains. Yep - two whole weeks of insulting the intelligence of the American people can make you very, very weary!
Next week, Air Force 1 will be rolling out of the hangar to take him on four trips. This greenie-weenie wants you to live like a cave dweller to "save the planet", but has no problem firing up this filthy gas hog. Reminds me of the inauguration when they had to close down one whole section of an airport to park the private jets of the Hollywood elite.
On Monday and Tuesday, he plans day trips to Elkhart, Ind., and Fort Myers, Fla, to pitch his economic recovery plan. Earth to Obama - they don't want it!!!
On Thursday, he returns to Springfield, Ill., where he served as a state legislator, to mark Abraham Lincoln's 200th birthday.
Then late next Friday, he plans to fly to Chicago his hometown, to spend the weekend and go out Saturday night with wife, Michelle, for a Valentine's Day dinner date. And you, fellow Americans, are paying for President Obama to fly his wife to Chicago for dinner!!

How long until 2013??!!???
where was it that I saw he'd cranked up the thermostat in the white house..."you could grow orchids in the oval office" was a quote...another, from the same source said "he's from Hawaii.." oh. gee. noted.
I hope he goes to the theatre often, too.
I know I am late with my blog reading but I wanted to say thanks Adrienne.
