This is one thing that mars our "God's Country". The neo-Nazi attitude is alive and well in certain people and mini-communities in our area. (No, most are not locals so we can't blame it on isolation or insulation. Most have moved here in the last 30 years.) "They" don't go around carrying banners or wearing labels. They're just ordinary people that we talk to everyday. Wouldn't even know unless they make a "telling" comment.
It is a sad commentary that a few people in our nation want to display such an evil and repugnant symbol as the swastika. The First Amendment protects their right to do so, but common decency is against it. The temptation to race-hatred is, unfortunately, still with us, and it is something that we constantly must fight against.
Human nature has pockets of great darkness -- a product of the fall and original sin. That we are Americans, and that we live in America, do not exempt us from this reality. Evil is here, as much as it is anywhere, because each of us is subject to temptation.

PS - The fact that the neo-Nazi's have just infiltrated is very, very scary.
