Forgotten Man
****As soon as A observes something which seems to him to be wrong, from which X is suffering, A talks it over with B, and A and B then propose to get a law passed to remedy the evil and help X, or in the better case, what A, B, and C shall do for X...
****What I want to do is to look up C. I want to show you what manner of man he is. I call him the Forgotten Man. Perhaps the appellation is not strictly correct. He is the man who never is thought of...
****He works, he votes, generally he prays - but he always pays...

Fashion Icon or Fashion Flop?
****I don't care how many times the MSM tells us that Michelle Obama is a fashion icon, it will never be the truth. The talking heads really believe if they say something enough times the people will eventually come to see the wisdom of their collective insanity.
****I will agree that it would not be gracious or in good taste to deride the clothing choices of our new first lady on her first day on the job. On the other hand, this is no different than the constant barrage of inanities and outright lies spewed forth from our left wing pundits on a regular basis.
****But I'm thinking that behind closed doors the wives of our leading "journalists" are informing their empty suited husbands of the truth. Mrs. Obama appeared to be wearing drapes to the inauguration and a chenille bedspread to the evening entertainment. The Lincoln bedroom must be looking quite bare about now.
****Am I being uncharitable and petty? I don't think so. It was not I who made her clothes a matter of discussion. So whether it be the propaganda machine telling me President Obama is pro-life or Michelle Obama is the new fashionista, I am bound to tell the truth.
This is Despicable
President Obama will keep the broken promises made by President Bush to rebuild New Orleans and the Gulf Coast. He and Vice President Biden will take steps to ensure that the federal government will never again allow such catastrophic failures in emergency planning and response to occur.
President Obama swiftly responded to Hurricane Katrina. Citing the Bush Administration’s “unconscionable ineptitude” in responding to Hurricane Katrina, then-Senator Obama introduced legislation requiring disaster planners to take into account the specific needs of low-income hurricane victims.

I'm no fashion expert, but weren't we always told that one didn't wear pastels (dresses, suits, slacks, skirts) in the winter? Just call me catty.
Why are people still blaming President Bush for Katrina (and the lack of quick response)? That's like blaming you and me for what happened. Obviously, people do not know or understand that the federal government cannot respond without a request from the governor of the state.
I have a headache - a really bad one.
I trashed her day dress in my blog and then read yours. LOL!
Side note; Maria also found the outfit to be "Dreadful", even though she was fond of homemade clothing from curtains.

Let's see if this link works better.

You know, it is NOT the job of the federal government to take care of us (victims of hurricanes). It is up to US to take care of OURSELVES.
I am certainly sick and tired of Bush being blamed for governmental failure. Our former governor, Blanco, was on the local news a few days ago whining about how it wasn't her fault those people were left in New Orleans. Nagin also has whined and complained that it wasn't his fault either. Typical of the Dems, passing the buck. You don't think it was Blanco & Nagin's fault that all those people were left in nursing homes? Wasn't it Nagin's fault for not calling on bus drivers to get people out of NO? Bush is not responsible for government on a local level. If he HAD intervened before the levees broke, can you imagine the outcry?????????
Ok, I"m totally stepping off the soapbox. Hurricane Katrina is such a sore subject with me. I am just sick of the entitlement of some people and what they believe they are owed.
Oh, and since I deliberately chose not to watch ANY of the inaugural events, I cannot comment on Michelle my Belle. Honestly though, I think she's just butt ugly.

When it comes to criticising Bush, O is second to none.
BTW, a lady I knew pointed out to me that it is the easiest thing in the world to do, criticise.
Now, I do believe in the busy lives of people conditioned to sound bites, it works, for a while. Then, sometimes the reality of the here and now takes effect. Then "What have YOU done for me lately?' will take effect.
Also, the halo effect, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halo_effect will only go so far. Yes he's a great orator, but can he balance a checkbook? Really?
An unrealted subject matter but an apt title of what we're seeing in Bush slamming:
