Her diarrhea is quite severe but I have picked up meds for nausea and a morphine derivative for pain, so she seems much more comfortable. She's drinking enough water so I'm only slightly concerned with dehydration.
This was so sudden and so unexpected.
Thank you all for your thoughts. I'm trying to place my trust in God and not be depressed. It's not easy.

It never is. I'm praying to St. Francis for Elle.
When the surgery is over and you know what her status is, do a straight line to your computer and let the rest of us know.
I'm with Cousin Tom. I too shall pray for the intercession of St Francis.
In fact I shall do so after this, while I am in the kitchen.
Adrienne I know it is easy to say but keep a stiff upper lip. All will work out as God plans it.

I know this is tough. I've been there.
Oh my, sorry to hear about your sweetie. I have cats but love dogs too, and one of our cats is chronically ill. Also praying to St. Francis for your little Elle. If she's not too, too ill, give her a hug from me.

I am so sorry to hear about little Elle. I pray that her suffering end soon and that she has a speedy recovery.
