You Can Make a Difference
Feeling powerless? You're not alone, but as a Catholic, you can make a difference.
First you need to pray. Prayer is powerful and makes a huge difference.
Next, you can vote with your pocketbook. Do not frequent any business that overtly supports those things to which we do not subscribe. Email companies and tell them why you will not buy their product. Don't go to movies produced by the the very people that would like for our way of life to be kicked to the curb. It works. McDonald's had a boycott placed on them back in May concerning their support of gay and lesbian issues. They have just renounced any affiliation with this cause.
The third thing is to make your voice heard. Do not allow people to shout you down - a popular tactic of the "cultural elites." Speak up in a respectful manner. We as Catholics are called to evangelize. Cardinal John Henry Newman said, “For in truth we are not called once only, but many times; all through our life Christ is calling us. He called us first in baptism; but afterwards also.... He works through our natural faculties and circumstances of life.
Believe that your voice can be heard through the internet. Barack Obama has used the internet to raise vast amounts of money. He is outspending John McCain three to one on advertising. It is up to us to help spread the clear message that we are "mad as hell and aren't going to take it anymore." If you have a blog, link to those that share our message and beliefs.
And finally, watch this video and know exactly with whom you are dealing....
Oh yes - did I mention prayer?

What an absolutely wonderful and pensive post, Adrienne.
Incredible video. Educated people, eh? Do they not realize how ignorant and ---- oh, never mind, I'm about to blog about it anyway.
Wonderful post.. so true!!
Excellent post -- very well put! Prayer and our labors go together; as St. Benedict put it, laborare et orare -- to work is to pray.
Ooops! I messed up the Latin in the last post. The right maxim is laborare est orare. My apologies.
