Colin Powell

"I would have difficulty with two more conservative appointments to the Supreme Court, but that's what we'd be looking at in a McCain administration."

I find this odd seeing as how the current abortion numbers can be compared to genocide of the blacks in this country.

"I can't deny that it will be a historic event when an African-American becomes president," Powell continued, speaking live in the studio. "And should that happen, all Americans should be proud — not just African-American, but all Americans — that we have reached this point in our national history where such a thing could happen. It would also not only electrify the country, but electrify the world."

Last time I checked Barack Hussein Obama was only partially black. Racism only flows one direction, doncha know!

"And I come to the conclusion that because of his ability to inspire, because of the inclusive nature of his campaign, because he is reaching out all across America, because of who he is and his rhetorical abilities — and you have to take that into account — as well as his substance — he has both style and substance, he has met the standard of being a successful president, being an exceptional president."

Rhetorical abilities and style makes you competent to be President?

Well, I think that this is payback by Powell for what he believes to be poor treatment he received by President Bush.

Powell is very liberal on social and economic issues -- he is pro-abortion, for example. I think that explains his difficulty with further conservative appointments to the Supreme Court.

I am so extremely disappointed in Powell for this decision. I expected him to be more astute, wiser. At one point I would have been proud to vote for him for President. No more.

I just about had a cow Fri. a.m. drive time. Listening to local radio host Rick Roberts. Election talk. Educated black woman claims she's pro-life and votes that wa 95% of the time, but she's voting for Nobama because "he's black." seriously.

Of course, if any white person said: "I'm voting for McCain, because he's white. the media would have the NAACP on your doorstep trying to get you arrest for "hate speech." I have HAD IT with total idiots. If she had said "I'm a Marxist" then her support would make sense. But how anyone can say he/she is "prolife" ad vote for this Marxist smirking baby hating freak is beyond me.

Laura, Colin was always a bit of a loser. Didn't want us to finish off Saddam in Gulf One.

I'm not a fan of Colin Powell, but I think that his edorsement is sincere and it because McCain/Palin would be terrible on foreign policy; just as bad as Bush if not worse. Yes, Colin Powell was treated badly by Bush, because he dared to give his own opinion and present reasons that the administration didn't want to hear. Look, I'm not enthused about the almost inevitable Obama victory but I say that McCain, Bush, and the Republican party have done this to themselves.
