Along with that great quote, I also liked the one about the Obama tax plan. "He doesn't want to take water out of your half of the bucket. He just wants to take water out of the other half."
Being Catholic does not mean I may not "report the news." Obama said it and I'm reporting it.
Being Catholic also does not mean I must park my brain at the Church door. Holy Mother Church has one job and that is to get us to heaven. The social justice issues flow from a spiritually fulfilled and properly catechized laity.
RJW - Just so it's your half and not my half - that's ok! As a matter of fact it would be nice if they just took your half and gave it me to add to my half. Gosh, that way I'd have a whole bucket full.....
I was thrilled at the way the crowds cheered to pro-life statements, last night. It really matters. It really is part of the platform - because it represents the hearts of the people.

Adrienne, you are a Catholic. I repeat: "Quid est imperatori cum ecclesia?"

I could not agree with you more. And in essence, that quote means that church and politics don't mix.
Go for your Catholic social justice teachings (all of them) and don't soil your hands with politics.
