I watch this sometimes - I love Whoopi - most of my friends think and talk like they do - and not everything they say is that far off, ALL of the time. And to be perfectly honest - I tend to identify with Joy - I understand her totally. Elizabeth annoys me. Do I agree with them on their issues? Nope.
But my real point is this: I can sympathize, empathize, and disagree - or sometimes agree. But I daily have to mortify my feelings, opinions, and attitudes and bring them into subjection to Christ. To be a Catholic requires a great deal of sacrifice and self-denial in the good ol' USA. And remaining the outsider.
When Joy gets especially bitchy, I always wonder what happened to her to make her so angry. I know what happened to me.
Irene - "devils" - no. Not my job to make that call. "Misguided" and just generally "wrong" on some of the key issues of our time - yes.
"The View" has a demonstrably liberal slant, as is evidenced by 4 of the 5 hosts fawning all over BO one day, telling him he's "very sexy" and then being obnoxious and hostile, attacking McCain a few days later, (i.e., Whoopi Goldberg asking him if he wanted to "return her to slavery").
It is dreck and drivel, and it appalls me that so many American women identify with and watch it each day.
"The View" may be a tasteless TV show, dreck and drivel -- I wouldn't know, I've never seen it, don't really even know what it is. But even without seeing it, I must agree it is appalling that any women anywhere would invest some of their precious lifetime watching it.
But it is about time someone asked -- what is wrong with being a liberal per se?? I mean, more than any other political label??? (Oh-h-h-h, Saints preserve us -- did she really say that????)

I'm beginning to think the answer is "yes", although the question might be better asked with an image of Oprah.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck is a hottie:0)
Yep, I went there.
God help us!
I am waiting for the day a lightening bolt crashes down right in the middle of the table (or better yet, right on Joy Behar's head...)
GOD FORBID!!!

Sadly...yes. That and Oprah.
All the ill-thought-out, shrill liberal propaganda you could want with your morning coffee, wrapped in a warm fuzzy new age blankie in the afternoon.
More than about 30 seconds of either show and I want to retch.

I take it liberals are devils.
See http://www.romeofthewest.com/ for 23 and 26 September.
