Well done! I wish I had the willpower to join you!

Good on you! It's not the easiest thing to quit smoking, but it can be done. My father and brother are two who successfully kicked the habit. Another couple of people you may know: the Pages, Brian Michael and his wife, Ann. Brian's blogged on it as well, and as far as I know, he is still smoke-free.

Good for you. I am about to try again. Keep up the good work!

I read somewhere that nicotine is the second most difficult drug to get off (the most difficult being barbs- actually withdrawl from them can kill).

Well done!

It is imperative my husband gives up the baccy too, but at the moment it seems a bridge too far, after everything else he's been through. I don't nag him, but my patience is getting a bit thin, they are making him ill!

Is there a 12 steps for cigarettes? There are unique issues associated with smoking and giving up smoking that make it soooo difficult.

Well done Adrienne! I successfully quit smoking about 8 years ago...i gained about as many stone in weight but i'd rather die fat than coughing my guts up every day and getting emphysemia.

Say, that's not a real picture of you, is it? LOL! Just kidding, of coarse. I just found it amusing how under "The Old Me" was a pic of a smoking kitty cat:0)

Well, I did not know you smoked. Good job in kicking that nasty habit. A few years ago, when my mom came down with pneumonia, I raided the place where she kept her cigarettes stashed, and promptly placed them in the TRASH. I told he that if she ever wanted to see me again she would keep those things permanently out of her life.

A little tough love goes a long way.

Keep up the good work. You’re a fighter that knows how to win big battles, and this one you will undoubtedly win as well!

Just that cat lighting up makes me want one. If I did not have friends who keep me from them - I would smoke myself to death.
