The real shock about the Chick-fil-A brouhaha...

is not about lefties acting like the vile screaming two year olds we all know them to be.

Most of us realize it's not what you know. but who you know.  Starting a business and need a loan?  Give a shout out to the bank president who happens to be your old college roommate.  Need a bit of code variance?  Your pal from the Chamber of Commerce or the Rotary happens to be the person in charge of code enforcement for your town.  None of this is necessarily illegal as long as laws are not broken.  It's just a bit of "greasing the skids" that makes life go more smoothly.  And don't forget to send them a case of wine for Christmas.

This has always gone on, and it's treated with a wink-wink and a friendly nudge.  But it's gone on quietly.  That is, until the head of Chick-fil-A was asked a direct question about his stance on homosexuals being able to marry each other.  He declared himself a Christian who believes marriage is between a man and a woman.

The result?

Mayors of at least three major cities publicly stated that they would make life a living hell for anyone wanting to open a Chick-fil-A in their towns.

The real shock, one that should send a chill down everyone's spine, is that these elected officials feel comfortable enough to publicly state such a thing - to publicly point out that they are willing to break the law and call down the furies on Christians who happen to hold Christian views.

Imagine if a mayor of a city said they were going to stop Starbucks from opening up, or declared it unlawful to sell Ben and Jerry's ice cream?

Message to the ill-informed radicals on the left:

If you support such public displays of unlawfulness by your elected officials, it may be you who is the next target.

Wednesday, August 1st is Chick-fil-A appreciation day.  Show your support by eating at Chick-fil-A.  And since we don't have a Chick-fil-A, do what Wild Bill suggests and have one for me.  Thank you...
