  1. I suggest something with more velocity and a scope.

.17hmr or .22 with some high velocity.

If you want SILENT. You can get some nice high powered pellet guns at cabelas.

  2. Joe - I'll need a night scope, too. The little sh*ts are nocturnal.

They eat the roots of your trees and bushes. They really like iris. I'm terrified they'll find my daylily beds. (I have a daylily nursery so that could be catastrophic!!)

I bought some poison but haven't had time to put it out.

  3. Don't use poison! There might be some good eatin' on those critters!

  4. Maybe you can get the Top Shot contestants from the History Channel to do a competition stage in your yard.

  5. Wonder if that's a buddy of Terry's garden friend?

  6. Oh, I hate these critters and the damage they do. Good luck getting rid of them.

  7. Larry beat me to it - these critters are all related. I'm partial to them. BTW - I think they eat day lily bulbs...

  8. I don't think we have those around us, but we have the smaller version--land squirrels (chipmunks). They look all cute and little, but those suckers can do more damage in one season than you can believe. They even managed to chew a hole in the concrete of my front porch! My neighbor said they chewed a hole in the wood siding in his house and made nests in his walls and basement. I can't poison them because I don't want my dog to get the poison or a hawk to eat one and get sick.

I've tried everything on the market and can't find anything to keep them away. Oh...and I even caught one climbing up one of the hanging plant polls and it jumped from the plant to a bird feeder in the tree and went to town on the birdseed.
