Is this anti-Romney ad some sort of joke?...

if it is, I don't get it.

First of all, the guy is clearly lying about the "job" he does.  As most of my readers know, I love watching our garbage truck automatically scoop up our big trash can with the clever clamp thingy on the side of the truck.

This guy is claiming he's picking up tons of trash everyday by hand.  Uh, no - I don't think so.  The scooper-upper clamps are clearly visible on those garbage trucks. It's also clear that there is only one person in the cab of the trucks.  And when you see him lining up some cans, it's not to pick them up.  If my little rural area of North Idaho has automatic garbage trucks, are we to believe that an upscale neighborhood doesn't?

And as much as I like watching my garbage truck come by, I'm never had the urge to give the driver a hug (it's a girl.)  I do, however, wave to her quite often.  I guess that makes me a bad person.

Welcome to the real world, Richard.  You call yourself an "invisible person."  Guess what?  The world is full of "invisible" people.  You think you should get some sort of medal for showing up and doing your job?  It is not going to happen.  And how in hell do you know whether Mitt Romney cares about you?

Grow up and quit your whining. And say a prayer that they don't run this travesty of an ad too often because you made a complete and utter ass of yourself.

This is the most ridiculous ad I have ever seen and clearly shows how demented the libtards are.

Everything I was going to say about Archbishop Myers pastoral letter concerning same-sex "marriage"...

Chris Wysocki already said - and we thank him.

From: WyBlog:

The media is sowing confusion regarding Archbishop Myers' pastoral letter on same-sex marriage
Last week Newark Archbishop John J. Myers issued a pastoral letter to provide us with spiritual guidance on the tendentious issue of same-sex marriage. Sadly too many in the media are framing his letter as "anti-gay", "hateful", or gasp! "electioneering".

Which of course misses his point entirely.

The purpose of his letter is not to decree how we should vote.

The purpose of his letter is to inform the faithful on the consequences of deliberately acting in opposition to Church teaching. Because when you sin, and make no mistake, supporting same-sex marriage (or abortion or contraception) is a sin, you endanger your immortal soul and close the door to eternal life in the Kingdom of God. read the rest

Chris has a link at his site to the Archbishop's letter.  I urge all of you to read it - not just Catholics, as it gives a clear picture of the meaning of marriage in both religious and secular terms.  It's 16 (pdf) pages long, which is a bit longer than the average blog post (no kidding!), so you may want to even print it out and re-read a few times.

I do the research...

so you don't have to.

You're welcome.

So what is Anti-Monkey Butt powder?

Glad you asked.

I was wandering around The Survivalist Blog one day and Gold Bond Medicated Powder was recommended in one of the posts.  A commenter suggested Anti-Monkey Butt as being waaaaay better because it had calamine instead of menthol.  My local Ace Hardware always has Anti-Monkey Butt by the checkout stands and with a name like that, it's sort of hard to miss.  The price tag of $7.95 was also hard to miss. Ouch!

I confess to being a powder freak.  There isn't a powder on the market I haven't tried - except for Anti-Monkey Butt.

In my usual careful manner, I started to do a bit of on-line research.  First I found out what monkey butt actually was.

From the Anti-Monkey Butt website:

It's a term used by motorcycle riders to describe the soreness, itching and redness that occurs when you ride and sweat on a motorcycle for hours.  If you have to walk bowlegged like a monkey to prevent your skin from rubbing, you have Monkey Butt!

Only Anti Monkey Butt Powder contains calamine. Some medicated powders have menthol. If your skin is irritated, the menthol will burn, making you uncomfortable.

If you ride a bike or horse, jog, snowmobile, or work outside (or, like me, just like powder)  Anti-Monkey Butt is for you

All the reviews I read were very, very positive so I decided to part with $7.95 at Ace Hardware.  I was more than happy with the results.  Enough so that I decided to find a better price.

And where did I find the best price (including shipping?)

WalMart

Price: $4.96 plus something like 85 cents shipping.

It comes in three different formulas - original, lady, and baby.  I've used the original and the baby with equal results.  I understand the "lady" has a bit more lady perfume smell.

Wild Bill: Maybe we should rethink our immigration policies...

 good idea, Bill.

Mitt Romney on Middle East policy...

Mitt Romney: A New Course for the Middle East
Restore the three sinews of American influence: our economic strength, our military strength and the strength of our values.

Disturbing developments are sweeping across the greater Middle East. In Syria, tens of thousands of innocent people have been slaughtered. In Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood has come to power, and the country's peace treaty with Israel hangs in the balance. In Libya, our ambassador was murdered in a terrorist attack. U.S. embassies throughout the region have been stormed in violent protests. And in Iran, the ayatollahs continue to move full tilt toward nuclear-weapons capability, all the while promising to annihilate Israel.

These developments are not, as President Obama says, mere "bumps in the road." They are major issues that put our security at risk.

Yet amid this upheaval, our country seems to be at the mercy of events rather than shaping them. We're not moving them in a direction that protects our people or our allies.

And that's dangerous. If the Middle East descends into chaos, if Iran moves toward nuclear breakout, or if Israel's security is compromised, America could be pulled into the maelstrom.

We still have time to address these threats, but it will require a new strategy toward the Middle East.  read the rest
